Situational Analysis

    Central Illinois Energy Cooperative is an agricultural cooperative based in Canton, Illinois, and is the developer of a 37 million gallon per year ethanol production facility and an associated waste coal-fired combined heat and power (CHP) plant.

     

    All major project contracts, including EPC, ethanol and co-product sales and corn supply were in negotiation.

 

Fieldstone Role

 

    Fieldstone acted as the investment banker and exclusive financial advisor to Central Illinois Energy in connection with the placement of $87,500,000 of senior debt for construction of the ethanol plant and the associated CHP facility.

     

    Fieldstone performed financial analysis and structured and placed the senior debt in the Term B market.

     

    This is the most highly levered ethanol construction financing completed to date.
